Week-02 (08/28/2022) – Circular

We hope this email finds you and your family healthy and safe. Welcome to the 2nd week of the 2022-23 academic year.

We’d like to remind you to please perform a daily symptom check on your child prior to sending them to school and to keep your child at home if they are feeling ill for any reason. With your support, we can reduce exposure to COVID-19 and other illnesses to keep our school community safe. Face coverings are recommended for students & individuals on the school campus. 

At-home COVID-19 tests: Tomorrow, we will distribute free at-home COVID-19 test kits for students by sending one home with each student. Volunteers will also receive one. One test kit box containing two tests will be available. Testing your child at home is voluntary. The tests included in the kit are nasal swab antigen tests that will provide results in 15 minutes. Each box comes with instructions for administering the test and interpreting test results. 

We encourage families to use one of the tests this weekend and the second test as needed. If a student has been tested within the last five days, families may also consider saving both tests for later use. 

If your student (or the volunteer) receives a positive test result, please do the following:

1. Follow the SCPH Guidance & Decision Tree
2. Register & report your results to our school through https://my.primary.health/l/sactamilacademy

Parking, & drop-off: Limited parking is available at our school location, 650 Willard Dr, Folsom, CA. If the parking lot is full, parents can park at 1835 Prairie City Rd, Folsom, CA 95630 and enter the school assembly area through the side entrance. See the map below. Parents can also choose to use the drop-off methods. Please follow the instructions from our traffic & security officers. 

Assembly & Class assignment: The school will start with an assembly session at 9:45 AM behind the building. Please plan to arrive early to find parking and identify your class assembly line and room. We advise you to use the side gate to enter the assembly area. The class teacher and room assignments can be found in your catamilacademy.org parent account. We will also have that information posted adjacent to the assembly area. 

Textbooks: Students should bring their textbooks to class every week. Along, with that, we request all students to bring a 1 subject notebook, pencil, and erasers. Almost all the students in grades pre-school to 5 received their textbooks on the 1st week of school. If you were absent on Aug 21st, please reach out to the school principal to collect your textbooks. Some students may not have received their story books. They should get it by early September. Grades 6-8 should receive their textbooks by early September. Textbooks are also available through the catamilacademy.org parent login [Parent Access > Child Resources Info, look for the textbook column/icon at the end]

Attendance: Attendance is a critical component of our grading system as you all should know. The attendance officer will mark attendance during the live classroom session. Arriving after 10.15 am or leaving before 11.15 am will be marked as Tardy. Don’t forget that 100% attendance for the academic year gets recognized at the end of the year.
