2023 Sacramento Tamil Mandrum/FETNA Speech Competition: As informed in the school assembly last week, registration for the speech competition closes on Jan 14th, 2023. Rules and regulations for the speech competition can be found here. To register use the following google form: https://forms.gle/xj6faSDowmatrkmi9

TVA (Tamil Virtual Academy): Last date to apply for the 2023 examination is extended to Jan 15th, 2023. Interested students can still download the application form here and send in the completed form and registration fee to Mr. Chakara.

State seal of biliteracy exam coaching: To assist high school senior students to get the biliteracy seal in the Tamil language, our school volunteers will be conducting coaching and refresher classes every Sunday at our school starting at 11:15 am. See details in the presentation posted here. We had one student sign up last week; looking forward to seeing many more high school graduating students take advantage of this opportunity & earn the seal of biliteracy. Interested and eligible students should reach out to the school principal/vice-principal to sign up.

Assembly: The school will start with an assembly session at 9:45 AM behind the building if weather permits or else it may be postponed to another week.

Jan 22, 2023: Grade 2, section A (1st group)

Feb 05, 2023: Grade 2, section A (2nd group)

Feb 12, 2023: Adv. KG

Upcoming important dates/events:

January 15, 2023: Last day to register for TVA exams.

January 29, 2023: Test-5 (Adv KG, Grades 2-8)

February 19, 2023: Holiday (President’s day)

Attendance: Attendance is a critical component of our grading system as you all should know. The attendance officer will mark attendance during the live classroom session. Arriving after the assembly or leaving before 11.15 am will be marked as tardy. Don’t forget that 100% attendance for the academic year is recognized at the year’s end.

Health Check: COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses have been on the rise. As we are returning back from the winter break and holiday celebrations, few friendly reminders:

Consider masking up in indoor public places
Cover coughs and sneezes and wash hands frequently
Stay home when sick, whether it’s COVID-19 or something else that can get others sick
