Week-06 (10/02/2022) – Circular

Welcome to the 6th week of the 2022-23 academic year. A gentle reminder to all about maintaining the school premises when using the facility. Thank you for your continued support in this regard.

STA Tamil Theni (Spelling bee) Competition: Registration is open now for our school-level Tamil Theni (Spelling bee) competition. The last day to register your child is October 2nd, 2022. If interested, please register through https://forms.gle/g99aFQLRLn6tJBLX6. Textbooks: Books for grades 6-8 will be distributed this Sunday, Oct 02, 2022. Please continue to use the online textbooks till then. Textbooks are available through the catamilacademy.org parent login [Parent Access > Child Resources Info, look for the textbook column/icon at the end]. Students should bring their textbooks to class every week. Along, with that, we request all students to bring a 1 subject notebook, pencil, and erasers. Some students in grades up to 5 may not have received their story books. We will try to supply them this Sunday, Oct 02 as well. 

Attendance: Attendance is a critical component of our grading system as you all should know. The attendance officer will mark attendance during the live classroom session. Arriving after 10.15 am or leaving before 11.15 am will be marked as Tardy. Don’t forget that 100% attendance for the academic year gets recognized at the end of the year. 

Upcoming important dates/events:

October 2, 2022: Last day to register for the Tamil Theni competition

October 16, 2022: Test 2 (Adv KG, Grades 2 – 8)

Assembly: The school will start with an assembly session at 9:45 AM behind the building.

Parking, & drop-off: Limited parking is available at our school location, 650 Willard Dr, Folsom, CA. If the parking lot  is full, parents can park at 1835 Prairie City Rd, Folsom, CA 95630, and enter the school assembly area through the side entrance. See the map below. Parents can also choose to use the drop-off methods. Please follow the instructions from our traffic & security officers. 

COVID-19 safety check: We’d like to remind you to perform a daily symptom check on your child before sending them to school and to keep them at home if they are feeling ill for any reason. With your support, we can reduce exposure to COVID-19 and other illnesses to keep our school community safe. Face coverings are recommended for students & individuals on the school campus. 

At-home COVID-19 tests: All should have received a free at-home CoVID-19 test kit. We still have a few left and if anyone wants them, feel free to stop by our front office. FDA has extended the expiration dates for these COVID-19 test kits. See here: iHealth COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test (9-to-12-month extension). The lot code we supplied, 221CO20214, is valid till Feb 13, 2023. 

If your student (or the volunteer) receives a positive test result, please do the following:

1. Follow the SCPH Guidance & Decision Tree
2. Register & report your results to our school through https://my.primary.health/l/sactamilacademy
