We hope this email finds you and your family healthy. Welcome to the 4th week of the 2022-23 academic year. 

Important reminder: Grades Advanced KG, 2 to 8 have their 1st monthly test/project due on 09/18/2022. 

We sincerely thank all the parents and teachers for keeping the corridors free of congestion last week and maintaining our classrooms in excellent condition. We request your continued support & cooperation every week. 

Assembly: The school will start with an assembly session at 9:45 AM behind the building. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the assembly may be canceled and students would be asked to directly go to their respective classrooms.  In that situation, Parents are requested to leave and pick up their kids at the door. 

STA Tamil Theni (Spelling bee) Competition: We are opening up the registration for our school-level Tamil Theni (Spelling bee) competition this week. The last day to register your child is Oct 2, 2022. If interested, please register through https://forms.gle/g99aFQLRLn6tJBLX6. Textbooks: Students should bring their textbooks to class every week. Along, with that, we request all students to bring a 1 subject notebook, pencil, and erasers. Almost all the students in grades pre-school to 5 received their textbooks on the 1st week of school. If you were absent until now, please reach out to the school principal to collect your textbooks. Some students may not have received their story books. We will supply them once they are available. Books for grades 6-8 are not available yet. Please use the online textbooks for now. Textbooks are available through the catamilacademy.org parent login [Parent Access > Child Resources Info, look for the textbook column/icon at the end].

COVID-19 safety check: We’d like to remind you to perform a daily symptom check on your child before sending them to school and to keep them at home if they are feeling ill for any reason. With your support, we can reduce exposure to COVID-19 and other illnesses to keep our school community safe. Face coverings are recommended for students & individuals on the school campus. 

At-home COVID-19 tests: All should have received a free at-home CoVID-19 test kit. We still have a few left and if anyone wants them, feel free to stop by our front office. FDA has extended the expiration dates for these COVID-19 test kits. See here: https://www.fda.gov/media/158007/download. For the lot code we supplied, 221CO20214, they are valid till Feb 13, 2023. 

If your student (or the volunteer) receives a positive test result, please do the following:

1. Follow the SCPH Guidance & Decision Tree
2. Register & report your results to our school through https://my.primary.health/l/sactamilacademy

Parking, & drop-off: Limited parking is available at our school location, 650 Willard Dr, Folsom, CA. If the parking lot  is full, parents can park at 1835 Prairie City Rd, Folsom, CA 95630, and enter the school assembly area through the side entrance. See the map below. Parents can also choose to use the drop-off methods. Please follow the instructions from our traffic & security officers. 

Attendance: Attendance is a critical component of our grading system as you all should know. The attendance officer will mark attendance during the live classroom session. Arriving after 10.15 am or leaving before 11.15 am will be marked as Tardy. Don’t forget that 100% attendance for the academic year gets recognized at the end of the year.
